I've been doing a little digging about SEO, as I mentioned the other day. I sent a few emails out to bloggers who looked like they were willing to network through their blogs. Bill Slawski was one of the guys more than willing to chat. He wrote an article about networking and link building and how relationships come first. Links second. That article resonated with me. We had a great conversation.
He certainly knows his way around optimizing a site, which is more than I can say for most shops that portend to do it. Bill gave me some good advice on building funnels so that sites visitors are able to find what they were originally looking for. That's what SEO should be about. Not about tricking the search engines. But, helping people find what they are looking for.
