Local Online Fundraising Tools

A new buddy and local networking co-hort of mine, Eric Tapley, manages the local Red Cross Chapter's website. They are doing a very cool fundraising event coming up that I thought was worth blogging about:

Golf balls will be dropped from a Worcester Fire Department Aerial Scope Truck to a flagstick below. Closest to the flag will win $10,000. Golf ball "drop date" will be announced when all the golf balls are sold.

The numbered golf ball that lands closest to the flag will receive a $10,000.00 prize! There will only be 3000 numbered balls available and they are selling fast at $20 a piece!

Eric and his team have also whipped up a very cool personal calendar building and hooked it up to a commercial printing system, which allows people to create a customized calendar by choosing photos and entering holidays. It is quite cool. Check it out. I plan to do a little more outreach around it too to see if we can generate some blog buzz.
