Remember the evite for War on Iraq? It made it around the internet a few million times, I am sure.
So does a lot of viral marketing and funny things. It is what spreads the fastest. Monitoring blogdex, you can find all kinds of funny memes that travel the internet. They have a discrete lifetime, but the links they generate bring search engine traffic for a long time. And there is always a new idiot that sends their friends the funny meme from the last decade.
So....
I am looking for a graphic designer/funny people or two or three that want to create some viral stuff on WhizSpark. I am thinking that a team effort will be best. Where we bounce some ideas around and then have a graphic designer on the team whip up the event site. No hierarchy, of course. (I want to avoid porn and other too racy subjects or anything that will get me in trouble with the authorities.) Anyways, the reason I'd like to have a team is because I think creative people work better when they bounce ideas around. Andrew and Buck have already been drafted, whether they like it or not.
I am figuring that the cheapest advertising that any new service can get is if it's users create funny viral stuff on it. So, I am willing to cut the team in on a little of the action if the viral generates some business. Although, I'd prefer that the team is doing it for the fun of it and the glory.
Here are some random ideas:
- A fundraiser so Kevin Federline can buy condoms.
- A fundraiser so Jason Calacanis and Nick Denton can get a room and get it over with.
- Fast Food Fetish Party.
- A fundraiser to buy Marc Canter some "tact".
- Fast food fetish party fundraiser to buy Marc Canter some "tact".
- Obviously, I need help here.
I am also looking for people that will create event websites for big public events. We have some new photo and blog post aggregation tools coming down the road + contests that we are about to launch and I need a bevy of graphic artists to get this somewhat subservise traffic generation project off of the ground.
All of this stuff will lead to paying work, of course. As cash flow dictates.
Oh. And if you have some ideas, please chime in.....
