So, as the web becomes more like a conversation, it is important to be able to search with time in mind. Zniff, the human edited search engine, now sorts search results by the time that it was spurled (bookmarked on the spurl service).
Congrats to Hjalmar for getting this out. I am looking forward to when I can search only my spurled pages. Also, it might be nice to be able to sort the results in a datagrid of some sorts. The way that technorati implements the interface is a bit cleaner. Of course, zniff is a lot faster.
If anyone uses del.icio.us and wants to convert to spurl (or use both), spurl has an import feature that allows people to upload their del.icio.us links and tags. Also, when using spurl to bookmark pages, you can also post it to del.icio.us. There really isn't a reason to not use both as you can seemlessly use both free services. And in the meanwhile, support two innovative companies.
Zniff also now provides xml feeds of searches of spurl bookmarks, which is what Greg Yardley was waiting for. You should use quicksub to facilitate easier subscription for this, Hjalmar.
In bookmark related news, Yahoo's my web supports online bookmarking. Unless you count looksmart's acquisition of furl, I think this marks the first time a major search engine supports that. I haven't investigated enough to know if it is as open as del.icio.us or spurl. Update: It looks like they will have an API for this. Also, this is positioned as much against google's search history as it is against bookmarking. Both are pretty similar things, so it makes sense to combine them.
Also, keep an eye on Wondir's Allen Searl's blog and blogdigger's Greg Gershman's blog for some collaboration with Hjalmar's Spurl and Zniff.
Update: Via pubsub, I found that you can circuitously search furl through google. Oh what a tangled web we're weaving
Thanks for the kind words Peter.
This is probably the first time Zniff is praised for speed :) Performance is still our main focus for improvement.
You probably know already (as a Spurl.net user) that you can search your own bookmarks only. Just use the search box in the Spurl bar or the search input box at the top of the interface on Spurl.net (while logged in). On the main page you can even sort those results by time.

Thanks Hjalmar. I know about that. Just wondering when it'll be introduced to zniff? I'd imagine it'd be natural to merge the two interfaces at some point?

Certainly. When Zniff will be formally launched, you will se a lot more integration between the two + new features that have yet to be launched on either of the two.
The current beta is more a technology showcase/testbed for the search alone.
BTW and a bit off topic, it would be cool to see people playing more around with the "advanced query syntax" at Zniff. Where else can you do things like this: http://zniff.com/?s=bookmarks+AND+%28spurl+OR+spurl.net+OR+delicious+OR+del.icio.us+OR+furl%29 - and then subscribe to the results as RSS ;-)
