Awhile ago (and recently), I ranted about how bloggers should be media sponsors and how bloggers should get free 'press' passes/tickets to events in exchange for 1) marketing the event and 2) blogging about the event before and after.
Well, the effectiveness of blogs as promotional tools for events is being tested and the right people are watching. So, if you want to HELP BLOGGERS [including yourself] GET FREE PASSES TO EVENTS in the future, help us out with this one: (there'll be lots more coming)
In my travels around the online and offline world, I often meet people who are planning, promoting, or just attending events in the Boston and central Massachusetts area. Recently I came to find out that a contact of mine is involved with what looks like a pretty killer event coming up in early May, called South End Style. Held at the Boston Center For The Arts, South End Style will be showcasing the art, food, drink, and fashion that is found in and around Boston’s trendy South End neighborhood.
If you are into great food, slick fashion, interesting art, and other cool stuff, this is worth checking out. Included on the list of those that will be showing off at South End Style are local designers Sara Campbell, Daniel Faucher, and David Josef along with some of the hottest restaurants in the city such as Perdix, Icarus, and 33 Restaurant & Lounge.
There's more information at Andrew's weblog. And I'll have more info soon too.
(The concept of using the blogosphere to market and sustain the goodness of events is growing, with a lot of people experimenting with different approaches. This could be big!)
