If there's any question I won't be attending I just don't bother replying to the Evite. Also, whenever I do my own events, I never use Evite because I always find it kind of intrusive. I don't really have a good explanation, but I'm fairly anti-evite.

I don't see Evite as being any more intrusive than a snail mail invitation; both do require a response. Evite just makes it easier to for the host to track responses and harder for the ill mannered, to claim they never received the invitation. Be an adult; if you don't want to accept an invitation, be it paper or e-mail, send your regrets to the host.
