Susan Kaup has just launched ExploitBoston! Tours. I was the fortunate soul to experience it first.
The tour is only $200 for a 6 hour tour of Boston. The trip includes:
- lunch at Paddock's
- waiting for the bus you already missed in 13F weather, not including wind chill
- guessing how to get places by car
- Sooz being vaguely aware of where you are - at all times
- four directory assistance calls
- being one inch from getting side-swiped and rear ended at the Somerville circle.
- and the kicker...
An all inclusive trip to the Boston Tow Lot including cab ride, walking a 1/2 mile from the fee payment building to the lot and that little orange official piece of Boston paper waiting for you at your reunification with your vehicle.
For a limited time, you can experience this too for $160.
No, this isn't a joke. This all happened. But, that was just the humorous parts of the day.
We actually had a great day in Boston yesterday. Sooz and I have really started picking up on our "conspiring". It has taken me/WhizSpark awhile to start doing events in Boston. But, we will be taking it by storm soon.
The best part of the day was bonding with Sooz. We bonded on both a personal and professional level. We realized that we've been talking for over 2 years now. And this month, will mark the first second event that we are working together on. Further, we've both come to the conclusion that working together will get us both to where we want to go - a lot faster than if we go it alone.
Sooz lined up a great day of meetings and we tag teamed a bunch of potential customers and introduced WhizSpark to a few of her existing and former conspirers.
I am not going to get into what we did and where we went - for lack of time. Sooz is welcome too. The best meeting of the day - for me - was meeting Bill Wendel. I am looking forward to the real-estate love-triangles we can all put together.

Bonus links for today, bloggers I've been reading for over a year-- Two Boston-area bloggers: Lisa Williams, Learning the Lessons of Nixon, a long-time favorite blogsister, and Sooz, AKA Susan Kaup, who is heavily involved with the Boston Wireless Group and runs lots of cool local events.
One broker in Massachusetts now works by the hour (Beating the Realtor commission system). If I were a broker, I'd take the increased cash flow and spend it as fast as I could. I'd fundamentally change what I offer and include a wide range of free services--from a free paint job to help sell the house to a new big screen TV for the buyer or the seller. I'd hire assistants and build a permission-based computer system. I'd realize that no industry is static, especially one where the rates go up by a factor of ten in just a short time.
Good Stuff. Thanks Sooz!
Everyone needs to experience The Paddock at least once in their lifetime. It reminds me of the bar my parents owned in Dodge, Nebraska when I was a kid: Godfather's Lounge.
Bill has a weblog percolating at http://realestatecafe.blogs.com
You forgot to mention the part about (me) calling Michael (http://www.bunkosquad.com) to help us navigate ourselves from the tow lot to Central Square/Cambridge. He is a human GPS.
I take the bus and subway (and the occassional cab) around Boston. Perhaps that became apparent early on. ;)
I'll try to write something on sooz.com soonish. Right now it's a little nutty trying to get a bunch of work done before leaving for Austin tomorrow for the SXSW Interactive Festival. Ah, warn weather.
