It's funny how easy it is to make $ online. Take a look at this site which was just bought by About.com (Via Pete and Junior). The company figured out the top product and service categories that are sold online. Then, they built landing pages filled with adsense ads and affiliate links for each category. Then, they slapped a search box and a little buying directory on top of it. The smartest part was that they culled some product reviews together. Then, added "compare" links all over the review pages, which guides users to the adsense/affiliate pages. I bet their funnel works like a charm, starting with some *unbiased* reviews, then guiding users to a page where they can ONLY click on an ad or leave the site. I assume they figured out how to drive traffic cheap through link buying, SEO and some low priced CPM deals. Then, they make $ on the spread.
If there's one thing that I've learned building an internet based company with offline sales and services processes, there's easier ways to make money online. That isn't as obvious to us people doing it the old hard way.
