You're a jerk.
1 to 5 ratings are useless as Christopher Allen states in a much more scientific way.

I'm the dad of half of the http://www.incredibooks.com kids and I assure you, they are for real. They are a group of friends from two families ranging in age from 9 to 15.
They came up with the Incredibooks name, designed the header graphics, chose and customized the WordPress theme, and did most of the set up themselves. They do their own writing and editing and make their own decisions as to what books to review and how to run the site.
All of the kids know at least a little HTML and some are dabbling in PHP and Ruby scripting. I only help out when they need advice or technical assistance beyond their current knowledge. Even then I try to point them in the right direction to learn how to do it on their own.
They went with the Structured Blogging (SB) plug-in for WordPress because it was the easiest way they could find to post reviews that looked nice on the page. They tried several plug-ins before coming to that conclusion. I later explained the benefits of structured content and the older kids definitely get it now even though that wasn't part of their initial attraction to SB.
Sarah, whose author link you posted, is the youngest of the bunch. And, yes, she is a good speller. In fact, all the kids sharpen their skills by checking each other's spelling and grammar.
Oh, and regarding the star ratings being too high, the kids consciously decided to review mostly books they like and hoped others would enjoy. So you won't find too many reviews of books they dislike.
