Poker Coaching: The Next Big Career Opportunity?

A guy I know just launched a website for his poker coaching business. He gets $100 an hour. He also makes money from affiliate marketing for a paid poker site, something that the big online ad networks have been warned against by the FCC. Given the size of this market, the amount of money that these poker sites are minting, and the fact that bigger media is hesitant to take their advertising money, there is quite a sweet spot for good poker players to make some money through coaching and affilliate programs. Will this be the next big career move? "Daddy, I want to be a poker website affiliate when I grow up."

I've started playing around on partypoker.net playing the no money Texas Hold em games. There is a long way before I start using real money. But, it is definitely something that someone with a bit of math skills, memorization skills and some betting balls - could do well with.  Joe told me previously that his average student profile is a college engineering student paying their tuition (or funding their fun time) with a bit of poker in between classes

Hi there,
Nicely said :)
And "yes, Daddy, I do want to be a poker website affiliate when I grow up." :), although I`m already grown up, at least that`s what I say and nobody believes me :))...

Anyway, you said you started playing on partypoker on play money, well you can give up from now... it`s useless... why? play money tables are filled with people who just waste time there, you won`t learn anything! you`ll just ruin any chance you might have in learning poker...

You want to learn poker? start reading about it, and start playing on real money not on play money. I suggest you start with low stakes and try to control yourself... if you`re carefull you won`t be loosing fortunes, just keep yourself at low stakes until you feel you`re good enough to raise the stakes.

If you want information about poker visit my website, there`s a blog where I post articles from time to time that can help you understand better the poker game... www.onlinepokerxperience.com
