Civic Space's Event System

Looks like meetup may have some open source competition. This tool might also be the closest to what we are doing. Anyone know who is working on this?  Who "Zack" is? Maybe they'd benefit from a peak behind our curtains? Some great comments on this thread.

What would be a price point that would make it possible for civic minded groups to use a hosted more robust version of this (ie WhizSpark)?

Hi Peter:

Zack is Zack Rosen, one of the founders of CivicSpace. This capability is not restricted to CivicSpace -- it will be core to Drupal (and hence to Bryght, as well).

The events have not been particular good in the past, but lots of work going into it over the next little while. Give me a shout if you want to discuss.
