I've been a bit reflective tonight, because we are working on launching a second strategy for WhizSpark. And I am writing marketing copy, that is based on what we have done that works. I'll elaborate later.
Based on my conversation with Darren Rowse, and some other conversations I've had recently, I was trying to think about how I'd summarize what has been happening with WhizSpark. And how I'd generally describe how to duplicate the success that we've had so far... so that someone could apply it their business.
It is basically the title of this post:
Think Big. Make Incremental Improvements. Celebrate Each Victory.
Think Big.
Don't think small. Don't solve a local problem. Solve a global one. Don't find solutions for people named Joe. Find solutions for people that have names that start with J.
Make Incremental Improvements.
Don't try to develop the perfect solution. Do something. Get it out there. Get feedback. Improve it. Refine it. Throw it out. Try something else. You'll find stuff that works.
Celebrate Each Victory.
Talk about what works with people. What you do that works. What they do that works. Be excited about your successes. Talk about it. Excitement is contagious. People yearn to be a part of exciting things. Success (and talking about it) breeds more and bigger successes.
Update: Dane Carlson highlights this behavior from another perspective.
