Thanks to Sooz for helping to find other people interested in marketing invite-only events. Yes, seems pretty oxymoronic. However, people want what they can't have. And access to special events is a huge draw. People want it when they think they might be missing out on something.
Seth Godin charges > $1500 for access to his exclusive seminars. I bet that many of you reading this could demand a similar price tag. The key is making it exclusive. Diamonds are expensive because they are rare.
This might also come in handy when trying to reach a target type of person, while keeping others out. This is what Sooz is trying to do. I also ran into a company the other day that is a music publishing company that is trying to license their music to record labels/big acts. They are having an event that they need to market to these people, but they don't want every musician in the world crashing the party and stealing their thunder.
Anyone else interested in this concept?
