How many words have you spouted on your weblog? How many social networking sites have you joined? Does it get you anywhere? What have you actually done as a result of this new attention you are garnering on your weblog or people you are collecting? What connections have you made and moved to the offline world?
I am sure Greg and I aren't the only ones to first make a blog connection and then work on a project together. But, I am glad it is happening. I was beginning to think that there weren't other bloggers like myself that were interested in doing non-writing projects together?
Over the last 6 months, we've probably chatted about 100 times, exchanged a few hundred emails and exchanged links in the tens of tens. We started chatting just because we were both entrepreneurs and into hearing ourselves hypothesize about social software. And now we are actually making things happen.
In 2005, I challenge you to take the relationships you've formed by blogging and do real things.
And for me: it is about time. I've written before why I blog, so I won't repeat it. But, suffice to say, that I do it as a lead generation and marketing tool for my business.
