Amy Gahran linked to my post about Gregory Narain and I collaborating on the beercasting project:
Greg & Pete: Getting Shit Done! By Peter Caputa, PC4media, Jan. 10. Bloggers in general, and pro bloggers in particular, seem to spend a lot of time networking with their peers. Believe it or not, this is not a waste of time. In fact, it’s a key part of how we make projects happen.
I am glad someone else sees the beauty in this. My goal for the near future with blogging is to identify projects with fellow bloggers where we derive mutual benefit.
To do this I am contacting bloggers that I've developed a repoire with through email and the phone and telling them about different opportunities that I have, and asking them about what projects that they have, that I can help with.
I find that when I talk with a person with ambitions and goals, we can easily find projects to work on together where we both benefit. Sharing ideas and opportunities in the open through blogging is an ideal way to find people that are open to this kind of arrangement. So, I am hoping that my 50 project proposals in 50 weeks idea generates some interest among potential collaborators.
